"Well, well, well, what do we have here? Looks like someone strayed too far from the Bunny Trail..."
Okay, despite how out of character and illogical this depiction is, you HAVE to admit that's something he would totally say.
So yeah, this is a picture of Wolf O'Donnell and Lucy Hare...my crack OTP (one true pairing? I don't really know, it's something like that).
WAIT I CAN EXPLAIN!!
~~~
Did you ever get an idea and figured it was something you should keep to yourself...and then someone gets that same idea, and you're both like "we gotta make this happen now"?
This is actually my end of a trade with , who is just as sweet as she is talented. The idea of this "couple" had occurred to me prior, but I always assumed it was an awful idea. Then, she suggested it and...well, here we are. I am poisoning her mind quite thoroughly.
Truth be told, Im not really sure where I got the idea that Lucy and Wolf might make a good couple. Could just be because theyre my two favorite Star Fox characters that dont actually have a love interest of their own. Originally I had thought of Bill for Lucy, and that the whole my bosss daughter concept might be interesting.
Hell, I had even thought she might be good for Fox if things didnt work out with Krystal (heaven forbid, right?) since theyre both offspring of the original team-members. And I had previously thought a bad girl would be something interesting and somewhat plausible for Wolf. But this, well has more intrigue to it, at least for me. Shes the sweet, considerate daughter of the general with a lot of smarts and a bit of spunk, and hes the down-trodden, vicious, sometimes even feral ring leader of a group of interplanetary thugs. A real Beauty and the Beast scenario, right?
Not really. Still, it would be very interesting if these two were to ever meet, even if it didnt reach a romantic point (and Im quite sure it wouldnt), since theyre obviously from different sides of the track. Plus, Wolf apparently has a low opinion of Peppy; itd be amusing to see how the Daddys Girl would react to someone like him. Shes probably find him beastly yet oddly intriguing! Or maybe not. I can dream, cant I?
And, I must admit, there is a certain sense of satisfaction from creating this. Normally, when it comes to the crack pairing, or the putting together of two characters with no romantic feelings towards each other, to the point where its nonsensical (hence the name, I gather), I generally steer clear. For the most part, I am still a canon prick, but I wont hassle anyone about it. I dont really mind playing around with the personalities, really. Still, my general opinion is that theres having fun with the characters, and then theres just being stupid. So, I wanted to make something that, while somewhat conflicting with the story, had some sort of logic to it. So yes, while this scenario will probably never happen, there is SOME sense in it.
I mean it is possible that not everyone in the Lylat System wants to molest Fox and/or Krystal, isnt it?
Plus, I dont care much for fan-characters. No, not even my own.
But yeah, I know, the whole opposites attract thing is cliché, and these are probably two characters that would rather be alone, not to mention Wolf might even be too old for her (not like we know anyones real age, though, other than the five SF members). Plus, its not like EVERY character needs to fall in love with another.
Still, I found this to be a lot of fun, so I would merely suggest for you to take it lightly. Besides, given what Ive seen in this fandom, this is actually pretty genuine. This is just my opinion, but Id rather see Wolf with a sweet girl like Lucy than have him made out to be some crazy dungeon master rapist like he's usually made out to be
And chances are these two will never even meet. Who knows? Maybe they wont even bother to bring Lucy back in the next game. Until then, I can just muse how funny their interactions would be.
I do apologize to those out there who are staunch in their following of the story. If its any consolation, imagine shes probably plotting to kick him in the nuts and run, anyway. That or Fox and/or Peppy are on their way to rescue her. ~~~
Chibi asked that I color it, so that's what I did. Not too shabby, considering I haven't colored anything in over a year, and how I suck with it to begin with.
I also realize anatomy-wise, this is a nightmare. Still, I am somewhat happy with it, considering I was able to make Lucy actually like herself...as opposed to my last attempt, which just looked like some random rabbit with her outfit on. I know I exaggerated her flippy hair thing, so she kind of looks like Rosalina...it's totally impractical, but I just like that look. Also, her arms are too thin and her boobs are too big...ah well. I'll keep trying.
So yeah...if you don't have a good sense of humor, I'd suggest just looking away. Sorry.
I think you did a great job on this. As far as crack pairings go, this one, like you said, actually has some logic to it (for one, it acknowledges that these characters are heterosexual). Other than Wolf's torso area I don't really see too many anatomy problems, and you're right, the characters really do look like they do in the games. If I may ask, what's that object hanging around Wolf's neck? That gold symbol thing.
All in all, this is a great job, I'm sure Chibisaturn will definitely like this.
In terms of what happens next, I'm leaning towards the Lucy-kicking-Wolf scenario. Either that, or Peppy is sneaking up behind him and getting ready to cane him.
xD I really do love this rant a lot. I was smiling through out the whole thing, since I agree. (doesn't this sound farmiliar?)
Not all cracksips are bad, and this is probably one of the few I really have obsessed over. I think it's a good idea and a different view in the romantic perspective of Star Fox. You know, it was originally military-action, yes, but in life there's romance, taht's my defense for romance in Star Fox.
Now, I feel I have some right to give an artist critique now.
After what I gave you as a ref, I believed you pulled off the pose well. At first, I thought you were going to draw wolf in front of Lucy, but looks like you went for behind, which makes it all the better. you also have great proportions, which is hard to pull off in art. Yes, I am going to say that your hands need work, but remember that hands are one of the hardest things to master in art and what you have now is supremely good. All you need to do is shape it. What I mean is give it more bone to it. It needs wrist bones and stuff. Not saying it doesn't persay, but with more...of a box shape I guess? If you think about it, hands do make a box shape with the structure that it is in. See, you're a special case. You're almost there with hands, but you just need to tweak it just a bit more. It's a hard find, but I know you can pull it off.
I like your coloring style. It's simple, plain, and loving. How is it loving you ask? Just the nice colors you chose for them. I think it suits them well, with my colors I have to pick about five or more colors to make it look right. With you, only two and it looks nice.
Overall, this drawing is exactly what we LucyxWolf fans need to give ourselves perks. It's a excellent drawing andI love it completely. I keep looking at it and smiling I love it so much! <3
Yes, it is possible for characters in the Star Fox universe not to be attracted to Fox and/or Krystal. XD I wholeheartedly agree.
And I love this pairing now--say I'm on the bandwagon or what? (I was originally planning on pairing Wolf with one of my characters, but this made me change my mind completely.)
On a side note, your art is getting better! I really love the coloring...
Oh and the gold pendant on a chain is something he wears in Super Smash Bros Brawl. :3 i like the necklace a lot. Kind of tones down his "bold" collar!
Haha, thats an interesting couple. I love Wolf's clothes here, and Lucy's expression is so cute!
Yeah, sometimes thinking of random pairings would be fun. Though I always prefered BillxLucy. Don't know why, to me they do seem to look cute together, hehe. I was also thinking WolfxMiyu. If Miyu existed, I think there would be some relationships between them.
I certainly wouldn't call it an anatomy nightmare...it's proportionately sound, as far as I'm concerned. It's very cute, and there's something interesting about the sharp contrast in colors between the two...it's a visual clash as well as spiritual. Nice work!
Lucy and Wolf actually make an interesting pairing. I think of it more from the perspective of how Lucy was a calming factor for Krystal...being the daughter of a man well known for his ability (or disability, in some eyes) to provide tips and advice, it seems Lucy was a catalyst that steered Krystal away from becoming a manipulative backstabber or all-around ice queen in Command, depending on your route. In that sense, I wonder what kind of effect she'd have on Wolf, a man who is capable of respect but seems too buried in pride and self-importance to ever openly acknowledge it.
If the two ever met, I imagine it would take some "encouraging" from Wolf before Lucy started trying to set him straight (I think she'd just ignore him otherwise unless provoked), but if that were to happen, I'm curious if that would spark anything between them...a bond shared through the way they were able to get to each other. Of course, that could end up being nothing more than the relationship between Fox and Wolf, though with less threats of violence.
Gosh darnit, now I'm inspired to draw something.
