You know, it's funny; in Command, each of the four *original* team members were given...sort of a seperate life that branched off from the main story, only to intertwine with the overall plot. On top of that, each of these seperate lives involved a woman...or in Peppy's case, two. And I just love how they gave Peppy a family, and I love what a Daddy's Girl Lucy is. Some people, in their criticism of Command, just brush it off, thinking the idea of Peppy procreating is absurd. But doesn't it make more sense for these characters to have personal lives? Do you really think they spend all their time in the Great Fox?

Regardless of opinions on Command, I'd much rather have a wise veteran, widower and father than a mental patient who just blurts out less than helpful lines...even though the latter is what most people see.

I've actually thought of writing another fanfic centered on this family, following the series from Peppy's perspective and making up possible ways such as...how he met Vivian, how she died, and so forth...but I'm still mulling it over. I still have to finish that...OTHER fanfic...

So this idea occurred to me a while ago, I wanted to do something with the Hare family bonding. Lucy's an astrophysicist, not an astronomer, but I figured it must've begun with a general interest in stars, at least.

As for the picture itself, it's the colored version of: [link]

A lot of people here seem to dislike backgrounds. I actually love it, I just...don't usually have an idea for one. And coloring said background...that's a different story.

So yeah, it looks like a twelve-year-old colored it, but...it kind of works, since I wanted a simplistic look for this scene...yeah, that's a good excuse.

Used Gelly Roll pen, Prisma Colored Pencils, touched up in GIMP.

I suck at backgrounds... you did very well! =D

Still looks nice, Kit! The subject is sweet, and I think the background is very good.

Reject common sense to make the impossible possible!
wow, a barouque feel to a futuristic civilization. That's a neat touch, Kit ^^

Everything that once comforted me...it tortures me now to no extent.
This picture rocks, I love seeing people actually respecting these characters instead of retarding themselves into blindly following internet fads. The coloring, I think, actually adds to the atmosphere of the pic, since it's reliving a childhood memory.

The sense of wonder in Lucy's face is good, just like the motherly look in Vivians. Peppy sure looks happy, too (I bet he wishes he was that thin again).

I eat children.
Great work, I adore it. People tend to forget the character behind the phrases that start internet fads. I love the "Do a Barrel Roll" fad as much as the next dork, but unlike so many I realize and respect the character of Peppy. He's my...third favorite character, I believe. :D

Keep up the good work. Fans like you give me hope in fandom itself.

I think it looks great.
I like how you did the expressions and the overall landscape. You've really set an overall mood and feel in this drawing.
I also like how you colored the ocean in the back, it looks really nice. :)
